I’m a writer, translator, and editor with a cross-disciplinary background in storytelling, multilingual communication, and the visual and performing arts. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, I bring a thoughtful, multicultural perspective to every project, shaped by years of exploration across diverse languages, cultures, and creative disciplines.
Learning across borders
I studied German and Russian at Brown University in Rhode Island, Vietnamese and visual anthropology at Humboldt University in Berlin, and film at the HFF Konrad Wolf in Babelsberg. Along the way, I improved my French in Paris, where I began exploring my Vietnamese heritage through the performing and visual arts.
Charting a path across disciplines
After college, I interned in theater management and journalism, where I developed skills in collaboration, workflow management, and stakeholder engagement. As an administrative assistant at an international consulting firm, I gained insight into the complexities of corporate strategy and operations. These formative experiences strengthened my adaptability and collaborative approach, skills that continue to inform my project management and editorial work.
Building a home and career in Berlin
Since moving to Berlin in the mid-1990s, I’ve balanced creative growth with professional development. I helped renovate a former squat into a collective housing community, an experience that reinforced adaptability and collaboration. I’ve worked across the independent art scene as an artist, production and gallery assistant, and translator, contributing to exhibitions, performances, films, and publications.
My work in stage and film sharpened my communication, leadership, and collaboration skills. Navigating both creative and professional challenges while raising two bilingual daughters has further shaped my ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and approach projects with clarity and mindfulness.
Bridging creativity and professional expertise
With experience in corporate, institutional, and creative contexts, I engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to support meaningful projects. I value holistic wellbeing, drawing on years of dance training to maintain balance and focus. My passion for languages fuels my ongoing journey in cross-cultural exploration.
