Berlin: Urban Architecture and Daily Life since 2009
Detail, December 2022
I translated a second book in Detail’s series on contemporary architecture in major cities. After KØBENHAVN now comes Berlin: Urban Architecture and Daily Life since 2009. It was especially fun since it’s all about my adopted hometown.
From the book flap:
Berlin is in a state of constant reinvention. This applies not only to the eventful period shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall but also to the present. … Vacant lots are being filled, old buildings converted, and new neighbourhoods established. Alongside architectural flagship projects, new venues for leisure, culture, and education are being built in both prominent and unexpected locations. Diverse residential developments, building group projects, and flexible working environments are also emerging.
